DIY Cup-Holder Gift: A Unique Touch

Between holidays, birthdays, and all other special occasions, finding the perfect gift for your loved ones can be a struggle. As someone who thoroughly enjoys the art of gift-giving, finding thoughtful and creative gift ideas year-after-year can get tough. If you find yourself in the same boat, I have the perfect idea for you. This gift is so simple and inexpensive, yet beautifully curated and intentional, providing a personal touch.

For my sister-in-law’s 30th birthday (only a few days after Christmas), I wanted to gift her something sweet that would make her feel special, but wasn’t entirely sure just what. Having just finished exchanging gifts for Christmas, I was fresh out of ideas. I didn’t want to over-complicate things, so once I stumbled across this variety cup-holder gift, I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

You might have seen this trend circulating the internet, as it’s a simplistic, yet cute gesture of love/appreciation. All you need is a standard 4-cup drink-holder from any food establishment. I picked mine up from Starbucks (they also offer 2-cup options). From there, you can completely customize it to your liking.

For mine, I included my SIL’s favorite Starbucks drink, a Starbucks gift card, a small bouquet of flowers from Target, a single chocolate chip Nothing Bundt Cake, along with a few chocolate candies and birthday card. The options are endless, so you can truly customize it to whatever your gift recipient enjoys.

I love this idea for teachers, nurses, or truly anyone whose day you want to brighten. The aesthetic alone would excite me, personally, if I were on the receiving end. Who doesn’t want their favorite drink, candy, and flowers?

I’ll be tucking this gift idea away in my arsenal for future reference. Now that I’ve tried my hand at it, I have a few ideas of how I could improve it further, including fresher flowers, a clip-on balloon, and maybe even some jewelry or lip gloss. Again, the possibilities are endless.

Let me know if you’ve tried this trend yourself and what items you included!
