I absolutely love open shelving, especially as a feature in the kitchen. However, they can sometimes be difficult to style in a way that’s both aesthetic as well as functional. When we moved into our apartment, though, I knew immediately how I wanted to utilize the space. If you’re struggling to find ideas of what to display on your open shelves, I have a few affordable and practical ideas for you.

As a Mom who enjoys a glass of wine or cocktail every now and then, I always wanted a bar cart in my home. However, with young kids in the house, it was never realistic, nor practical. So much of the appeal of having a bar cart is openly displaying your beautiful beverage bottles and glassware. I realized although I couldn’t have a bar cart, I could still achieve the aesthetic by utilizing our kitchen’s open shelves!

I love the look of glassware, especially when displayed in a variety. From Amazon, I grabbed a 6-pack of simple shot glasses, a 4-pack of old fashioned whiskey glasses, and a whiskey decanter. I also ordered a 4-pack of red and white wine glasses to complete the set. My favorite thing about ordering glassware from Amazon is it makes it easy to purchase every variety you need from a singular place.

In addition to my glassware, I picked up a decorative wood footed bowl from At Home. I love to store fruit and sometimes limes for chasing in it. The pop of green this little detail adds is one of my favorite parts. It’s such a subtle, but significant way to break up the lineup of glassware.

On the upper shelf, I considered carrying out the theme, but decided to include organic modern decorative pieces instead. I knew I wanted a unique trio of candle holders, not the typical iron set, although they are classic and beautiful. Our apartment, like many other newer complexes, is fairly blank and bland, despite being completely new so I try to include color tastefully wherever I can in an effort to warm up the space. I fell in love with this green set of glass striped candle holders. It subtly continues the glassware display theme, but with a slight twist. I decorated the rest of the shelf around this set and picked up a beautiful framed vintage landscape print and faux plant from At Home in a ceramic vase.

My favorite aspect of home decor that I try to incorporate as much as possible is texture. Seeing different textures alongside each other is so aesthetically satisfying to me. It provides so much visual interest with such minimal effort!

These are my favorite Amazon finds that provide stylish touches to my kitchen decor. How have or would you decorate open shelves in your home?
